Sixteen months, my last post was that long ago. I see that many still come around to read or re-read my posts and for that I am thankful. It has been a bit of a roller-coaster, but I have managed to do well for myself. My quest for "gainful" employment after graduating didn't abate until mid-August. I had to suffer through the remainder of the year, and the first quarter of this year making ends meet being a shift manager at my local gas station. I was waiting for a position to open up with a consultancy firm. Thankfully a position was available in May and I was brought on to the organization as an analyst. Since then I have enjoyed my work and find it fulfilling.
My personal life has taken a remarkable turn. I met an amazing woman last May, after nearly a year of many dates I asked her to marry me. Her reply was yes. Since then we've moved into a nice two-bedroom apartment and started our lives together. There is so much I could write about her, but my writing would pale in comparison to the amazing woman she truly is.
I haven't had much time to get creative with my writing, or even with any other ventures, as my time has been committed to working-out (I managed to put on a few pounds during the last year), working, spending time with my fiancee, maintaining some semblance of contact with my family, all in all it's been tough for me to carve out time to write again. I have to say, I miss that cathartic feeling after writing an ever expanding post (much like this one is turning out to be). I hope one day to return to the schedule to which many of you were accustomed in days long past, but in the interim I will say this. While I was away, instead of writing about my life I was actually living it. It has, and continues to be amazing.

A college graduate that's what. Last Thursday, after much fanfare and pomp and circumstance I walked across the stage. Did I receive my degree, no, but at least my parents, who had waited 15 years were able to see me walk. Looking back over the last 2.5 years I've realized how much effort I have put into my studies. To calculate exactly how much time I spent studying, tutoring, troubleshooting, writing, editing, is impossible. Now here I am a college graduate, with Honors, desperately looking for a job in my career field and finding very little. This job hunt might take a while, so in the mean time I'm planning on taking my folks on a much needed vacation, hence the GoFundMe project in the sidebar.

It has been a rough few weeks for me. March 11th my family found out our dog, Duke, had metastatic Pancreatic cancer. The specialist gave him weeks to months to live. The prognosis was exceptionally poor. Needless to say, we were devastated but still determined to give Duke the best days he could have. Which we did. Last Saturday, April 13th, Duke passed away, at the age of 4 and a half, in the arms of those who loved and cherished him. So to honor his memory, and to help my grieving. I'm posting these pictures, as well as a few videos I made during his life as small remembrance of how much he gave to us in his short time here.
He was a good boy, and he is missed every day.
